Welcome to my queendom, hello I am Djemilla Soobrayen, a multi-disciplinary artist. These arts are special to me, it’s art straight from the depth of my heart. Since I was a child, I have always been interested in the field of art and I knew that later in life I would work in a creative field, but I had to take several detours to arrive to what my inner child always knew.

Even though I have been most of my life connected to my Inner child, who believes in magic and sees beauty in the mundane things in life, I was trying hard to fit in a capitalist society. And man did that kill my joy!!! I studied art in high school and later did my studies in graphic design and advertising. I worked as a graphic designer for some years and quickly grew out of it. To quench my thirst of seeing new things and living an adventurous life, I worked as a photographer on Celebrity Cruise line.

When I came back to the island I went back to being a graphic designer and felt that I would not bloom in that field. So I started working in business, while traveling, creating and participating in exhibitions during my spare time. Years went by and I knew something was missing in my life, I was not fulfilled. In 2022 while visiting Barcelona for 4 days, I came across a Contemporary Art school through a friend and decided to give myself a chance to re-connect with my first love; art. But little did I know that following my passion would lead me on a wild ride.

For the moment my research is mostly based on sensuality, femininity, goddess, women empowerment and feminine pleasure. I use mostly painting, clay, installations, photography and textile to express my own world. In my spare time I like to sketch, read, dance, go on hikes and go to new places with my camera.

My Studio

Welcome to my little sanctuary in the heart of Barcelona, a space where my imagination roams free and creativity dances on every wall. Tucked away in a charming old building, my studio is an eclectic mix of contemporary vibe meets bohemian soul, reflecting the vibrant energy of the city itself. The moment you step in, you can feel a gentle hum of inspiration coursing through the air. It’s like stepping into my personal oasis of color and possibility, with big windows that flood the room with natural light, piles of art supplies scattered in between cozy corners, and my favorite music softly playing in the background.

In this studio, I give life to the visions swirling inside my head—clay morphing into sensual sculptures, paint merging into mesmerizing strokes, fabrics unfolding into dreamy installations. I often lose myself in the process, letting my instincts guide me as my hands mold and shape the pieces I’ve imagined. It’s here that I continue to explore the themes of femininity, goddess energy, and female pleasure, letting each artwork speak to the power and grace within us all. Every part of the studio—tables, easels, shelves—holds a story of my artistic journey, and being surrounded by those quiet whispers of creation keeps me rooted in my passion.

Beyond being a haven for my craft, this studio has become a place of growth and sisterhood. Friends and fellow artists drop by, bringing good vibes and warm laughter that echoes through the room. We share ideas, support each other’s creative endeavors, and sometimes even collaborate on new projects. Each interaction, each stroke of paint, each splash of color is a gentle reminder that we’re all continuously evolving. And in this small pocket of Barcelona, I’ve found a place where my inner child, my creative soul, and my boundless imagination all feel truly at home.
